Last year, manufacturers changed ingredients in more than 20% of all grocery products – and without warning 😨 These silent changes can be incredibly dangerous to families with dietary restrictions. To help warn members about these potential changes, Fig is excited to introduce Ingredient Alerts.

• What are Fig Ingredient Alerts?
  • Fig Ingredient Alerts will notify you if ingredient or allergen statements have potentially changed in your favorite products – and if these changes are no longer compatible with your Fig profile.

• How can I be alerted if ingredients change in my favorite products?
  • Simply add the products you commonly buy to any list on Fig, and the app will alert you if any of those products have likely changed ingredients or allergen statements and no longer fit your dietary needs.

• I received an Ingredient Alert about one of my favorite products. What does this mean? What should I do?
  • If you received an alert about one of your favorite products, this means Fig found an ingredient and/or allergen statement for that product that may no longer fit your Fig.
  • This does NOT necessarily mean that the product has definitely or permanently updated its ingredients and/or allergen warnings. Sometimes, the same product will have different ingredients and/or allergen statements depending upon the date the product was produced or the facility in which it was produced.
  • The best thing you can do is double-check the ingredient and allergen statement the next time you’re at the store and confirm that it still fits your family’s needs.
  • We’re working hard to improve the Fig Ingredient Alerts feature and apologize if erroneous alerts are sent or if we miss changes to some of your favorite products.

• I received an Ingredient Alert that wasn’t accurate or helpful. What should I do?
  • If you received an alert that wasn’t accurate or helpful, please click the “Report Issue” button on the Fig app and let us know.

• Are Ingredient Alerts available for all Fig members?
  • Ingredient Alerts is a Fig+ feature. Remember, you can get a 7-day free trial of Fig+ to try this feature and all the other Fig+ features: unlimited scanning, restaurants, store filtering, Multiple Figs, and more!

• Can I rely on Fig Ingredient Alerts to warn me about all product changes?
  • We designed Fig Ingredient Alerts to be a second set of eyes for you and your family.
  • We try our best to identify all product changes; however, because there are hundreds of thousands of food products in existence, Fig Ingredient Alerts will never be perfect.
  • For this reason, it’s always best to double-check the ingredients and/or allergen statements of everything you consume, especially if you live with life-threatening food allergies.
