Summer in a glass doesn't get much better than this — ripe peaches simmered into a silky homemade syrup, bright fresh lemon juice, and muddled mint all coming together in one seriously refreshing pitcher drink. Every ingredient here is straightforward and naturally free from the hidden condiment additives that can sneak into store-bought flavored lemonades and beverage mixes. The peach syrup is made from scratch by cooking down real fruit with sugar and water, so you know exactly what's going into your glass. Muddling the mint directly in the pitcher releases those fragrant oils and gives the whole drink a garden-fresh lift that dried or bottled mint just can't replicate. It's also completely plant-based, making it a crowd-pleaser whether you're hosting a backyard gathering or just treating yourself on a warm afternoon. Adjust the tartness or sweetness right at the end to suit your taste — this recipe is forgiving and endlessly drinkable.

Combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the peaches soften and begin to break down, about 8–10 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool for 20 minutes. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing the peach solids firmly with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
