Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with smoked paprika, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/8 tsp black pepper.
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes, until the skin is crisp and the flesh has turned opaque about two-thirds of the way up the sides.
