Bright, jewel-toned, and bursting with summer flavor, this raspberry lemonade is the kind of drink that makes people ask for the recipe before they've even finished their glass. Fresh raspberries are simmered down into a gorgeous deep-red syrup with agave and water, then strained smooth for a clean, vibrant base that's completely free of any processed additives or preservatives. That matters more than you might think — many store-bought fruit drinks and flavored lemonades sneak in preservatives that people following a nitrate- and nitrite-free lifestyle need to avoid. Here, every single ingredient is whole and recognizable, from the hand-squeezed lemon juice to the muddled fresh mint that gives the finished drink an herby, garden-fresh lift. Agave keeps it fully plant-based while adding a gentle sweetness that you can dial up or down to your taste. It's refreshing, it's stunning in a pitcher, and it comes together with nothing more than a saucepan, a strainer, and a few minutes of your time.

Combine the raspberries, agave syrup, and 1/3 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the berries against the side of the pan, until the raspberries have completely broken down and the syrup is a deep red and slightly thickened, about 4–5 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
