Bright, jewel-toned, and bursting with summer flavor, this raspberry lemonade is the kind of drink that makes any afternoon feel like a celebration. A quick homemade raspberry syrup — made by simmering fresh berries with agave and water, then straining out the solids — gives the whole pitcher a gorgeous deep-red color and a naturally sweet, fruity base. Agave stands in beautifully for honey here, which matters because honey and other animal-derived sweeteners are off the table for anyone managing alpha-gal syndrome. Muddled fresh mint adds an herby, cooling note that takes this well beyond basic lemonade, and the whole thing comes together in well under an hour with nothing more than a saucepan, a strainer, and a pitcher. You can tweak the balance at the end — a splash more lemon juice if you like it tart, a little extra agave if you want it sweeter — so it's easy to make exactly your own. Serve it over ice with lemon slices and a sprig of mint for a drink that looks as good as it tastes.

Combine the raspberries, agave syrup, and 1/3 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the berries against the side of the pan, until the raspberries have completely broken down and the syrup is a deep red and slightly thickened, about 4–5 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
