Bright, citrusy, and genuinely refreshing, this lemonade gets an unexpected lift from a lime zest–infused agave syrup that takes the whole drink to another level. Steeping the zest directly in the warm syrup pulls out every bit of aromatic oil before it ever hits the pitcher, which means the citrus flavor is layered and complex rather than flat. Fresh-squeezed lemon juice does the heavy lifting here — no concentrates, no shortcuts, just real fruit doing its thing. The agave syrup keeps it fully plant-based while dissolving smoothly into cold liquid, so there's no grainy sweetness at the bottom of your glass. Avoiding nightshades is effortless with a drink like this, since every single ingredient is naturally in the clear — no hidden pepper derivatives, no tomato-based additives, nothing to second-guess. It's endlessly adjustable too: add a splash more water for something lighter, or an extra squeeze of lemon if you like a sharper, more puckery finish. Pour it over a tall glass of ice with a citrus slice on the rim and it looks as good as it tastes.

Combine the agave syrup, 1/2 cup water, and lime zest in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the agave is fully dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup steep for 15 minutes so the lime zest infuses fully.
Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the zest lightly to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
