Bright, citrusy, and genuinely refreshing, this lemonade gets an unexpected lift from a lime zest–infused agave syrup that takes the whole drink to another level. Steeping the zest directly in the warm syrup pulls out every bit of aromatic oil before it ever hits the pitcher, so the citrus flavor is layered and complex rather than flat. Fresh-squeezed lemon juice keeps things tart and lively, while agave dissolves seamlessly into cold liquid — no grainy sugar settling at the bottom of your glass. For anyone avoiding capsaicin, this is the kind of crowd-pleasing drink you can pour freely without scanning a single label for hidden spice additives or pepper-derived colorings. It's completely plant-based too, so it works for just about everyone at the table. Serve it over a generous pile of ice with a few citrus slices floating on top and it looks as good as it tastes.

Combine the agave syrup, 1/2 cup water, and lime zest in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the agave is fully dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup steep for 15 minutes so the lime zest infuses fully.
Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the zest lightly to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
