Staying well-hydrated while nursing is one of those things that sounds simple but can genuinely be hard to keep up with when you're running on little sleep. This bright, citrusy drink makes reaching for a glass feel like a treat rather than a chore. Fresh-squeezed lemon juice brings a clean, bold tartness, while a lime-zest-infused agave syrup adds a floral, slightly tropical sweetness that sets it apart from anything you'd pour out of a bottle. Agave dissolves beautifully into cold liquid, so the sweetness is smooth and even throughout — no grainy sugar settling at the bottom. The whole thing comes together in one pitcher with real, recognizable ingredients and zero mystery additives, which matters when you're paying close attention to what goes into your body. Serve it over ice with a few citrus slices and it looks as good as it tastes — genuinely refreshing on a long afternoon.

Combine the agave syrup, 1/2 cup water, and lime zest in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the agave is fully dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup steep for 15 minutes so the lime zest infuses fully.
Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the zest lightly to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
