Bright, citrusy, and genuinely refreshing, this lemonade gets an extra layer of complexity from a lime zest–infused agave syrup that takes just minutes to pull together. Steeping the zest in warm agave and water draws out the fragrant oils in a way that plain sugar syrup simply can't match, giving every sip a floral, aromatic lift. Fresh-squeezed lemon juice keeps the flavor clean and vivid — no concentrate, no shortcuts. Because every ingredient here is a whole, simple plant-based staple, there's zero guesswork about hidden spice blends or seasoning mixes that sometimes sneak black pepper into unexpected places. You can easily dial the tartness up or down to suit your crowd, making it as puckery or as mellow as you like. Poured over ice with a few citrus slices, it looks as good as it tastes — the kind of drink that disappears fast at any gathering.

Combine the agave syrup, 1/2 cup water, and lime zest in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the agave is fully dissolved, about 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the syrup steep for 15 minutes so the lime zest infuses fully.
Pour the syrup through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the zest lightly to extract all the liquid. Discard the solids.
