This drink is the definition of summer in a glass ā bright, floral, and just sweet enough to feel like a treat without being cloying. Fresh strawberries are simmered down with maple syrup until they release a gorgeous deep-pink juice, then fragrant basil leaves are steeped right into the warm syrup to layer in an herby, almost garden-fresh note. That infused syrup gets strained and combined with brewed black tea for a refreshing pitcher drink that looks stunning and tastes even better. Every single ingredient here is naturally free from tree nuts, so there's no label-reading anxiety or ingredient swaps required ā just clean, whole-food components from start to finish. It's the kind of thing you can make ahead, stash in the fridge, and pour over ice whenever the mood strikes. Garnish with a sprig of basil and a few strawberry slices and it's practically ready for its close-up.

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat. Remove from the heat, add the tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags, then set the brewed tea aside to cool slightly.
While the tea steeps, combine the halved strawberries, maple syrup, and 1/2 cup water in the same saucepan (or a second small saucepan) over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries have softened and released their juices and the liquid is a deep pink, about 8 minutes.
