Fresh raspberries and real lemon juice come together in a drink that looks like something from a fancy brunch menu but comes together in under 20 minutes on your stovetop. The homemade raspberry syrup is the star — simmered with maple syrup and water until it turns a gorgeous, jewel-toned red, then strained smooth before it ever hits the glass. Every single ingredient here is naturally free of turmeric and any of its sneaky aliases, which can quietly show up in store-bought flavored syrups, bottled lemonades, and even some sparkling beverage mixes marketed as "wellness" drinks. Making the syrup yourself means you know exactly what's in it, full stop. The tart lemon juice balances the berry sweetness beautifully, and the chilled sparkling water gives it that satisfying fizz that makes it feel genuinely celebratory. Dress each glass with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh mint and it's practically begging to be photographed before you drink it.

Combine the maple syrup and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the maple syrup dissolves, about 1 minute. Add the raspberries and cook, pressing them gently with the back of a spoon, until the berries have broken down and the syrup is deep red, about 3–4 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a small bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the raspberry syrup cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes.
