Fresh raspberries simmered down with maple syrup and a splash of water create a jewel-toned syrup that forms the heart of this gorgeous, crowd-pleasing drink. Squeezed lemon juice brings a bright tartness that balances the berry sweetness perfectly, and chilled sparkling water gives every sip a satisfying fizz. The whole thing comes together in a pitcher, making it effortless to serve a group without any fuss. Soy hides in a surprising number of flavored drinks, syrups, and store-bought spritzers, but every ingredient here is clean, whole, and completely transparent — no label-reading required. A garnish of fresh mint and a lemon wheel makes it look like something you'd pay twelve dollars for at a rooftop bar. It's equally at home at a summer backyard gathering or a quiet afternoon on the porch, and the homemade raspberry syrup can be made ahead and stashed in the fridge until you're ready to pour.

Combine the maple syrup and water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the maple syrup dissolves, about 1 minute. Add the raspberries and cook, pressing them gently with the back of a spoon, until the berries have broken down and the syrup is deep red, about 3–4 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a small bowl or measuring cup, pressing the solids firmly with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the raspberry syrup cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes.
