Shepherd's pie is the kind of deeply satisfying comfort food that earns a permanent spot in your weeknight rotation, and this version delivers every bit of that hearty, stick-to-your-ribs warmth. The filling is built on ground lamb browned with onion, carrots, celery, and mushrooms, then brought together with bone broth, coconut aminos, and a touch of apple cider vinegar for a sauce that's rich, savory, and just a little complex. Fresh thyme, rosemary, turmeric, and ginger layer in warmth without overwhelming the dish — it smells absolutely incredible while it bakes. Instead of a traditional potato topping, a cloud of coconut oil–mashed cauliflower seals everything in and turns golden at the peaks in the oven, giving you that satisfying crust without the heaviness. Every ingredient here is straightforward and whole-food based, so there's no need to scrutinize labels for hidden seafood derivatives or cross-contact concerns that can sneak into packaged sauces and broths. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving, scatter some fresh parsley on top, and watch it disappear fast.

2
Add 2 tbsp of the coconut oil and 1/2 tsp salt to the drained cauliflower. Mash with a potato masher or beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy, with no large lumps remaining. Taste and adjust salt. Set aside.
