Comfort food doesn't get much more satisfying than a bubbling skillet of savory meat filling topped with a cloud of creamy mash, and this version delivers all of that without any of the usual pregnancy-diet second-guessing. The filling is built on ground lamb cooked through to a safe internal temperature — the recipe specifically calls for hitting 165°F at the center, so there's no guesswork involved. Carrots, celery, mushrooms, and bone broth create a deeply nourishing base, while turmeric and ginger add gentle warmth and a little extra anti-inflammatory goodness that's welcome during pregnancy. Instead of a butter-and-cream potato topping, the mash is made from cauliflower blended with coconut oil, keeping things lighter while still giving you that golden, pillowy crown. Coconut aminos stand in for soy sauce, and arrowroot starch thickens the sauce naturally, so the whole dish stays free of ingredients that can feel risky or hard to vet when you're eating for two. Everything comes together in one oven-safe skillet, which means less cleanup and more time to actually rest. Finish it with a handful of fresh parsley and you've got a genuinely hearty, feel-good dinner that's as nourishing as it is delicious.

Cook all meat thoroughly when pregnant.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and cook until completely tender and easily pierced with a fork, about 12–15 minutes. Drain thoroughly and return to the pot.
Add 2 tbsp of the coconut oil and 1/2 tsp salt to the drained cauliflower. Mash with a potato masher or beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy, with no large lumps remaining. Taste and adjust salt. Set aside.
