Comfort food doesn't get much more satisfying than a bubbling skillet of savory meat filling crowned with a cloud of creamy mashed topping — and this version delivers every bit of that cozy payoff. The filling is built on ground lamb slow-cooked with carrots, celery, mushrooms, and a fragrant blend of fresh thyme, rosemary, turmeric, and ginger, all brought together with bone broth thickened by arrowroot starch. Coconut aminos and apple cider vinegar add a subtle depth that makes the sauce taste like it simmered all afternoon. Instead of the traditional potato topping, cauliflower florets are boiled until completely tender and mashed with coconut oil into something genuinely silky and satisfying. Every ingredient here is whole and straightforward, which matters when you're avoiding the synthetic preservatives that sneak into packaged broths, seasoning blends, and processed fats so commonly found in shortcut versions of this dish. The entire thing goes from stovetop to oven in one skillet, so cleanup is minimal and the presentation is naturally impressive. Finish it with a handful of fresh parsley and you've got a deeply nourishing, crowd-pleasing dinner with nothing hidden in the ingredient list.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and cook until completely tender and easily pierced with a fork, about 12–15 minutes. Drain thoroughly and return to the pot.
Add 2 tbsp of the coconut oil and 1/2 tsp salt to the drained cauliflower. Mash with a potato masher or beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy, with no large lumps remaining. Taste and adjust salt. Set aside.
