Comfort food doesn't get much more satisfying than a bubbling skillet of savory lamb filling topped with a cloud of creamy mashed cauliflower. The filling is built on ground lamb, diced carrots, celery, onion, and finely chopped mushrooms, all brought together with bone broth, coconut aminos, and fresh herbs like thyme and rosemary for a deeply savory sauce. Arrowroot starch thickens everything beautifully without any grain-based flour, and a touch of turmeric and ginger gives the filling a subtle warmth that keeps every bite interesting. The cauliflower mash topping gets its richness from coconut oil, mashing down into something genuinely creamy and golden at the peaks after a stint in a hot oven. Every single ingredient here is naturally free from tree nuts, so there's no need to scrutinize labels or worry about unexpected additions hiding in a store-bought version. This is the kind of dish that tastes like it took all day but comes together in one oven-safe skillet, making cleanup as easy as the cooking itself. Finish it with a scatter of fresh parsley and let it rest just long enough to serve it without burning your fingers ā though that part is admittedly hard to wait for.

Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cauliflower florets and cook until completely tender and easily pierced with a fork, about 12ā15 minutes. Drain thoroughly and return to the pot.
Add 2 tbsp of the coconut oil and 1/2 tsp salt to the drained cauliflower. Mash with a potato masher or beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy, with no large lumps remaining. Taste and adjust salt. Set aside.
