Dried smoked paprika can sometimes contain mold toxins, but the small amount in this recipe—about 1/4 teaspoon per serving—is likely tolerated by many. When possible, use a recently purchased organic spice and store it tightly closed in a cool, dry place. If you prefer to always avoid smoked paprika, please tap it and change its rating to Red.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or leave it unlined.
Combine the sweet potato cubes, bell pepper, zucchini, and chickpeas on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with 3 tbsp olive oil, then sprinkle with the cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until evenly coated, then spread into a single layer with the sweet potato pieces toward the edges of the pan, where the heat is most intense.
