Tart, fizzy, and brilliantly pink, this sparkling drink is the kind of thing that looks like it came from a fancy cocktail bar but comes together with just a handful of clean, plant-based ingredients. Managing alpha-gal syndrome means staying vigilant about mammalian products hiding in unexpected places, and beverages are no exception — but every single component here is naturally free of that concern. The homemade raspberry syrup is the real star: fresh berries, water, and maple syrup are simmered down and strained into a jewel-toned liquid that's miles better than anything from a bottle. Freshly squeezed lemon juice adds a bright, citrusy backbone that balances the sweetness perfectly. A gentle pour of chilled sparkling water ties it all together with just the right amount of effervescence. Garnished with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh mint, it's as beautiful to look at as it is to drink — ideal for a backyard gathering or a quiet afternoon treat.

Combine the raspberries, water, and maple syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the berries against the side of the pan with a spoon, until the raspberries have completely broken down and the liquid is deep red and slightly thickened, about 6–8 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a heatproof bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes, or speed it up by setting the bowl over an ice bath.
