Bright, tangy, and flushed with the color of summer, this raspberry lemonade is the kind of drink that makes a plain afternoon feel like a backyard party. The base starts with a quick homemade raspberry syrup — fresh berries, maple syrup, and water simmered down into a glossy, deep pink concentrate that tastes nothing like the artificially flavored stuff. Straining out the solids gives you a silky, jewel-toned syrup that blends seamlessly with freshly squeezed lemon juice for a balance of sweet and tart that's genuinely hard to stop sipping. Because every ingredient here is whole and straightforward, there's zero guesswork about what's actually in your glass — no flavored syrups, no blended products, nothing that could sneak in an unwanted allergen. You can dial the sweetness or tartness up or down right in the pitcher before serving, which makes it easy to get it exactly where you want it. Pile the glasses high with ice, add a lemon slice and a sprig of mint, and you've got something that looks as good as it tastes.

Combine the raspberries, maple syrup, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the raspberries against the side of the pan with a spoon, until the berries have completely broken down and the syrup is a deep pink-red, about 6–8 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
