Bright, tangy, and flushed with a gorgeous deep pink color, this homemade lemonade is the kind of drink that makes any afternoon feel like a special occasion. Store-bought lemonades and flavored drinks are notorious for sneaking in synthetic preservatives like BHA and BHT to extend shelf life, so making your own from scratch is genuinely the smartest move. Every ingredient here is exactly what it sounds like — fresh raspberries, real lemon juice, maple syrup, and water — so you know precisely what's going into your glass. The raspberry syrup is cooked down on the stovetop until it's a rich, jewel-toned concentrate, then strained smooth before being stirred into the lemonade base. Maple syrup does double duty as the sweetener, adding a subtle depth that plain sugar just can't match. You can tweak the balance of sweet and tart right in the pitcher, making it as puckery or mellow as you like before pouring over ice. Garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint, it looks stunning and tastes even better.

Combine the raspberries, maple syrup, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the raspberries against the side of the pan with a spoon, until the berries have completely broken down and the syrup is a deep pink-red, about 6–8 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
