That gorgeous deep pink-red color comes entirely from real raspberries cooked down with maple syrup — no dyes, no artificial anything. Store-bought fruit drinks and flavored lemonades are some of the sneakiest sources of synthetic colorings, often hiding behind vague "natural flavor" labels, so making your own is genuinely the safest move. The raspberry syrup is strained smooth, so you get that jewel-toned hue purely from the fruit itself. Fresh-squeezed lemon juice brings a bright, zippy tartness that balances the berry sweetness in a way no powder or concentrate can match. The whole thing comes together in one pitcher and is easy to dial in to your exact taste — a little more water, a little more lemon, totally your call. Served over ice with a sprig of mint, it looks like something from a fancy café but costs a fraction of the price and you know exactly what's in it.

Combine the raspberries, maple syrup, and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the raspberries against the side of the pan with a spoon, until the berries have completely broken down and the syrup is a deep pink-red, about 6–8 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
