There is something deeply satisfying about a homemade iced tea that looks as stunning as it tastes, and this ruby-red raspberry lemon version delivers on every level. Fresh raspberries are simmered down into a vibrant syrup with maple syrup and water, then strained until silky smooth — no artificial flavors, no flavor enhancers, just pure fruit. Bright lemon juice cuts through the sweetness and gives the whole drink a refreshing lift that store-bought versions rarely manage to nail. Because every ingredient here is whole and unprocessed, you never have to second-guess what's in your glass, which is a genuine relief when so many packaged beverages and drink mixes rely on hidden additives. The tea itself is simply steeped black tea cooled to room temperature, keeping the process clean and the flavor honest. Poured over ice with a few lemon slices and a sprig of fresh mint, it's the kind of drink that makes any afternoon feel a little more special.

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat. Remove from the heat, add the tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags, then let the tea cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes.
While the tea steeps, combine the raspberries, 1/2 cup water, and maple syrup in the same saucepan (or a small one) over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the raspberries gently with the back of a spoon, until the berries have broken down completely and the liquid is deep red, about 5–6 minutes.
