Bright, tangy, and deeply refreshing, this sparkling drink is built entirely from whole, recognizable ingredients — no store-bought shortcuts needed. That matters more than you might think, because many bottled juices, flavored sparkling waters, and commercial syrups sneak in additives like carrageenan as a stabilizer or thickener. Here, a homemade raspberry syrup made from fresh berries, maple syrup, and water does all the heavy lifting, giving you rich color and natural sweetness with zero mystery ingredients. Fresh-squeezed lemon juice adds a bright, citrusy punch that no concentrate can match. The whole thing comes together in a pitcher with chilled sparkling water and ice, making it as easy to serve as it is impressive to look at. A sprig of mint or a few lemon slices on the rim turns it into something you'd happily serve at a summer gathering or a lazy weekend brunch.

Combine the raspberries, maple syrup, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the raspberries against the side of the pan with a spoon, until the berries have completely broken down and the syrup is slightly thickened, about 6–8 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold, at least 30 minutes.
