Bright, tangy, and beautifully pink, this sparkling drink is the kind of thing you want to sip on a warm afternoon with absolutely zero effort to track down specialty ingredients. The homemade raspberry syrup is the real star — fresh berries, maple syrup, and water are simmered together until thick and fragrant, then strained smooth so every sip is silky and vibrant. Squeezing real lemons keeps the flavor sharp and clean, and the sparkling water adds that satisfying fizz that makes it feel like a proper treat. For anyone avoiding capsaicin, drinks can be a surprisingly tricky category since some commercial mixers and flavored syrups sneak in unexpected heat-adjacent ingredients — here, every component is straightforward and easy to verify. The whole thing comes together in a pitcher, so it's just as easy to scale up for a crowd as it is to make a glass for yourself. A few mint sprigs and lemon slices on the rim turn it into something that looks genuinely impressive with almost no extra effort.

Combine the raspberries, maple syrup, and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally and pressing the raspberries against the side of the pan with a spoon, until the berries have completely broken down and the syrup is slightly thickened, about 6–8 minutes.
Pour the raspberry mixture through a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl or measuring cup, pressing firmly on the solids with the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids. Let the syrup cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold, at least 30 minutes.
