A well-made margarita is one of life's great pleasures, and this version delivers the real deal ā bright, citrusy, and perfectly balanced without a drop of anything that could cause concern. The secret is a quick honey syrup that replaces the typical triple sec or orange liqueur, which can sometimes contain mammalian-derived additives that people managing alpha-gal syndrome need to avoid. Fresh lime juice and a splash of fresh orange juice bring all the citrus complexity you'd expect from a classic, while 100% agave blanco tequila keeps things clean and straightforward. Shaking it hard over ice gives you that frosty, slightly diluted texture that makes a great margarita so refreshing. The honey syrup comes together in just a couple of minutes on the stovetop, and you'll have a little left over to sweeten your next drink. Salt the rim if you like, squeeze in a lime wedge, and you've got a cocktail that feels genuinely festive and completely worry-free.
