Snacking while nursing can feel like a constant scramble for something satisfying that doesn't come loaded with questionable additives or artificial flavors. This glazed popcorn hits that sweet spot — literally — with a sticky maple and citrus coating that bakes onto every kernel until it's glossy, crunchy, and completely irresistible. Fresh orange zest and juice bring a bright, natural sweetness, while ground ginger adds a gentle warmth that makes the whole thing feel a little more special than your average handful of popcorn. Coconut oil and unsalted butter keep the fat sources simple and real, and the maple syrup means you're skipping refined sugar without sacrificing any of the caramel-like depth. The optional pinch of cayenne is easy to leave out if you're keeping things mild, and the baking soda trick gives the glaze that satisfying crackly finish as it cools. It's the kind of snack you can make in a big batch, break into clusters, and reach for one-handed during a feed or a rare quiet moment on the couch.

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pop the popcorn kernels: heat the coconut oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add 2–3 test kernels, cover, and wait until they pop. Add the remaining kernels in a single layer, cover, and shake the pot gently every 30 seconds until the popping slows to 2–3 seconds between pops. Transfer the popped corn to a large mixing bowl, discarding any unpopped kernels. You should have about 9–10 cups of popped corn.
