Warm, bubbling fruit filling topped with a golden, nutty crumble ā this dessert hits every note you want from a classic bake without a drop of refined vegetable or seed oil in sight. Coconut oil does all the heavy lifting in the topping, binding the rolled oats, almond flour, and sliced almonds into satisfying clusters that crisp up beautifully in the oven. The berry filling gets its glossy, jammy texture from arrowroot starch rather than anything processed, and a little lemon juice plus warm spices like cinnamon and ginger make the whole thing smell absolutely incredible as it bakes. Most store-bought crumbles and dessert mixes sneak in canola, sunflower, or soybean oil, so making this from scratch means you actually know what's going in. The technique is genuinely simple ā toss, stir, scatter, and bake ā and the result looks and tastes far more impressive than the effort involved. Let it rest for a few minutes after it comes out of the oven and the filling thickens into something truly spoonable. Serve it straight from the dish, and don't be surprised when people ask for seconds.
