Few cocktails are as refreshingly iconic as this one, and the good news is that every single ingredient here is naturally free of poultry in any form β no hidden broths, no flavored spirits with mystery additives, just clean, simple components you can feel confident about. Fresh mint leaves are muddled gently until just bruised, releasing their cool, fragrant oils without turning bitter, and that restraint makes all the difference. A homemade simple syrup comes together in minutes on the stovetop and keeps in the fridge for up to two weeks, so you can batch it ahead and have cocktail hour ready to go at a moment's notice. The bourbon goes in over a generous mound of crushed ice, and a quick stir frosts the outside of the cup in a way that feels genuinely satisfying before you even take a sip. That optional dusting of powdered sugar on the mint garnish is a small touch that looks stunning and adds just a whisper of sweetness to the nose. Whether you're sipping on a warm afternoon or serving a crowd, this is the kind of drink that feels both timeless and effortless.
