Few cocktails carry the same sense of occasion as a frosty julep cup sweating in your hand on a warm afternoon. This version keeps things beautifully simple β fresh mint, a quick homemade simple syrup, and good bourbon are all you need to pull it off. Muddling the mint leaves gently is the real secret here; just a few careful presses release the fragrant oils without turning the leaves bitter and grassy. Packing the crushed ice high above the rim isn't just for looks β it chills the bourbon fast and creates that signature frosted exterior that makes the whole experience feel special. A dusting of powdered sugar on the mint garnish is optional, but it adds a delicate, almost floral finish that's hard to resist. Because every ingredient in this drink is naturally free of tree nuts, there's nothing to second-guess or swap out β just mix, stir, and enjoy.
