Slow-braised pulled pork is the kind of dish that fills the whole house with a smell so good people start wandering into the kitchen before it's even done. This version builds deep, complex flavor from a spice rub of turmeric, ginger, and Ceylon cinnamon before the pork shoulder gets seared hard in coconut oil and then low-and-slow braised in a sauce of smashed garlic, pure maple syrup, coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, and bone broth. Every single ingredient here is chosen with intention — no synthetic preservatives, no mystery additives, just real food doing all the heavy lifting. BHA and BHT tend to sneak into packaged sauces, bottled condiments, and even some spice blends, so making the sauce entirely from scratch means you stay in complete control of what goes into the pot. After three and a half to four hours in the oven, the pork shreds into long, glossy strands that soak up every drop of that reduced braising liquid. It's rich, a little sweet, savory, and just complex enough to feel special without being fussy. Pile it over rice, stuff it into lettuce cups, or just eat it straight from the pot — no judgment here.

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). In a small bowl, combine the salt, turmeric, ginger, and Ceylon cinnamon. Pat the pork shoulder completely dry with paper towels, then rub the spice mixture all over the surface.
Heat the coconut oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the pork shoulder and sear, turning every 2–3 minutes, until deeply browned on all sides, about 10–12 minutes total. Transfer the pork to a plate.
