Fresh strawberries, real lemon juice, and maple syrup come together in a drink that tastes like summer in a glass — bright, a little tart, and naturally sweet without any of the artificial flavor enhancers that sneak into so many store-bought beverages and powdered drink mixes. The process is simple but thoughtful: a quick maple simple syrup is made first, then the strawberries steep right in it to pull out every bit of their juicy, jammy flavor before being strained away. That concentrated berry base gets lifted by freshly squeezed lemon juice and still water, then finished with a splash of sparkling water right before serving so the bubbles stay lively in the glass. It's the kind of drink that looks stunning on a table — especially with a lemon slice and a sprig of mint tucked over the rim — but requires almost no effort to pull together. Because every ingredient here is whole and unprocessed, you never have to second-guess what's in your cup.

Combine the maple syrup and 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the syrup is fully dissolved, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature, about 15 minutes.
Add the hulled and halved strawberries to the cooled maple syrup and press gently with a spoon to release their juice. Let the berries steep for 15 minutes, then strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher, pressing the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
