Iced tea sounds simple enough, but a surprising number of store-bought and restaurant versions are sweetened with high fructose corn syrup hiding in flavored syrups or pre-made concentrates. This homemade version keeps things clean from start to finish, using pure maple syrup as the only sweetener — no mystery ingredients, no label-reading stress. The result is a refreshing, golden-hued drink with real depth: black tea brewed right into a ginger-infused water base, then brightened with fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Simmering the ginger before steeping the tea is a small step that makes a big difference, coaxing out a warm, slightly spicy note that plays beautifully against the citrus. You can dial the sweetness up or down with a little extra maple syrup before chilling, so it's easy to make it exactly your style. Poured over ice and garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint, it looks and tastes like something you'd order at a nice café — except you made it yourself, and you know exactly what's in it.
