There is something genuinely refreshing about a homemade iced tea that tastes this bright and clean. Fresh mint and basil steep together with green tea bags in water kept just below a simmer, coaxing out a fragrant, golden-green brew without any bitterness. Raw honey melts right in for gentle sweetness, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice ties everything together with a citrusy lift that makes each sip feel almost effervescent. Store-bought flavored teas and bottled drinks can carry all kinds of mystery additives, so brewing this at home means you know exactly what's in your glass. It comes together with nothing more than a saucepan, a strainer, and a pitcher — no special equipment needed. Serve it over ice with a few thin lemon slices floating on top and it looks as good as it tastes, whether you're pouring it for yourself on a Tuesday or setting it out for a crowd.

Bring 4 cups of water to 175°F (80°C) in a small saucepan — just below a simmer, with small bubbles beginning to form at the bottom. Remove from heat.
Add the green tea bags, mint leaves, and basil leaves to the hot water. Steep for 4–5 minutes, until the tea is a clear golden-green and the herbs are fragrant. Do not steep longer, as the tea can turn bitter.
