Buy nuts that look and smell fresh, and keep opened packages in the fridge or freezer. If you prefer to always avoid walnuts, please tap it and change its rating to Red.

When possible, use a recently purchased organic spice and store it tightly closed in a cool, dry place. If you prefer to always avoid black pepper, please tap it and change its rating to Red.

Watch closely, as they can brown quickly. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes, then separate into the two portions.
Place the torn kale leaves in a large mixing bowl and sprinkle with 1/4 tsp salt. Using clean hands, massage the kale firmly for 1–2 minutes until the leaves darken, soften noticeably, and reduce in volume by about half.
