Hard-boiled eggs sound simple enough, but getting them right — no green ring, no rubbery whites, shells that actually peel — is trickier than it looks on the stovetop. The Instant Pot takes all the guesswork out of it, delivering consistent results every single time with just water, eggs, and a quick ice bath. The pressure-cooking method gently steams the eggs rather than boiling them aggressively, which is exactly why the texture stays tender and the shells release so cleanly. Starting at the wider end where the air pocket sits is a small trick that makes peeling feel almost satisfying. Naturally free of wheat and any grain-based ingredients, these eggs are as clean and wholesome as a protein source gets — no labels to scrutinize, no hidden additives to worry about. Keep a batch in the fridge and you've got an easy snack, a salad topper, or a quick breakfast ready to go all week long.

Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot insert. Place the trivet or steamer basket inside. Arrange the eggs in a single layer on the trivet — they can touch but should not be stacked.
Lock the lid and set the pressure-release valve to Sealing. Cook on Manual (High Pressure) for 5 minutes. While the eggs cook, fill a large bowl with cold water and a generous amount of ice.
