Hard-boiled eggs seem simple enough, but getting them consistently cooked — no green ring, no rubbery whites — is trickier than it sounds on the stovetop. The Instant Pot takes all the guesswork out of it, delivering perfectly set yolks and tender whites every single time. The method is straightforward: a cup of water, a trivet, and a quick pressure cycle followed by a natural release before the ice bath locks everything in. That ice bath step is non-negotiable — it stops the cooking immediately and makes peeling almost effortless, especially when you start at the wider end where the air pocket sits. These are as clean and allergen-friendly as a recipe gets, with nothing but eggs, water, and ice involved, so there's zero concern about cross-contact from nuts or any other add-ins. Whether you're meal-prepping for the week, topping a salad, or just want a high-protein snack ready to go, a batch of these in the fridge is always a smart move.

Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot insert. Place the trivet or steamer basket inside. Arrange the eggs in a single layer on the trivet — they can touch but should not be stacked.
Lock the lid and set the pressure-release valve to Sealing. Cook on Manual (High Pressure) for 5 minutes. While the eggs cook, fill a large bowl with cold water and a generous amount of ice.
