Hard-boiled eggs might seem like the simplest thing in the world, but getting them consistently perfect — no green ring, no rubbery whites — is trickier than it looks on the stovetop. The Instant Pot takes all the guesswork out of it, delivering tender whites and creamy, fully set yolks every single time. The five-minute ice bath is the real secret weapon here, stopping the cooking in its tracks and making the shells practically fall off on their own. These are completely free of tree nuts in any form, so whether you're cooking for someone with a sensitivity or just keeping your kitchen clean and simple, there's nothing to second-guess in this ingredient list. Meal preppers especially love this method because you can knock out a full dozen at once and have grab-and-go protein ready for the whole week. Slice them over a salad, mash them into egg salad, or just eat them straight with a little salt — they're endlessly useful.

Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot insert. Place the trivet or steamer basket inside. Arrange the eggs in a single layer on the trivet — they can touch but should not be stacked.
Lock the lid and set the pressure-release valve to Sealing. Cook on Manual (High Pressure) for 5 minutes. While the eggs cook, fill a large bowl with cold water and a generous amount of ice.
