Hard-boiled eggs are one of the most naturally aligned foods you can eat when you're focused on whole, unprocessed ingredients — and the Instant Pot makes the whole process almost effortless. Just eggs and water, nothing else to question or swap out. The pressure-cooking method followed by a proper ice bath is the real secret here: it stops the cooking instantly, which means no rubbery whites and no that greenish ring around the yolk that signals overcooking. Peeling under a thin stream of running water, starting at the wide end where the air pocket sits, lets the shells slip off cleanly instead of taking half the white with them. Batch a dozen at once and you've got a week's worth of grab-and-go protein ready in the fridge. Slice them over a salad, pack them for lunch, or eat them straight with a little salt — simple, satisfying, and exactly the kind of no-fuss food that makes sticking to a whole-foods approach genuinely easy.

Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot insert. Place the trivet or steamer basket inside. Arrange the eggs in a single layer on the trivet — they can touch but should not be stacked.
Lock the lid and set the pressure-release valve to Sealing. Cook on Manual (High Pressure) for 5 minutes. While the eggs cook, fill a large bowl with cold water and a generous amount of ice.
