Hard-boiled eggs are one of those kitchen staples that seem simple until you're dealing with rubbery whites, greenish yolks, or shells that tear the egg apart on the way off. The Instant Pot solves all of that with a hands-off method that delivers consistent results every single time. Water goes in, eggs go on the trivet, and the pressure does the heavy lifting — no babysitting a pot on the stove required. The five-minute ice bath is the real secret weapon here, stopping the cooking instantly and making those shells practically fall away on their own. With just eggs, water, and ice, there is genuinely nothing hidden in this recipe — no seasonings, no additives, no anything that could sneak in unwanted flavor enhancers. Whether you're meal-prepping a week's worth of snacks, topping a salad, or making deviled eggs for a crowd, this method gives you perfectly set yolks with a clean, natural flavor that lets the egg shine on its own.

Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot insert. Place the trivet or steamer basket inside. Arrange the eggs in a single layer on the trivet — they can touch but should not be stacked.
Lock the lid and set the pressure-release valve to Sealing. Cook on Manual (High Pressure) for 5 minutes. While the eggs cook, fill a large bowl with cold water and a generous amount of ice.
