Hard-boiled eggs sound simple enough, but getting them right — no green ring around the yolk, no rubbery whites, shells that actually peel — is trickier than most people expect. The Instant Pot takes all the guesswork out of it, delivering consistently perfect results every single time. The five-minute pressure cook followed by a natural release gives you that ideal set texture without overcooking, and the ice bath locks everything in place so the yolk stays bright and creamy. Peeling under a thin stream of running water from the wide end is a small trick that makes a genuinely big difference — the shells practically slide off. Because the only ingredients here are eggs and water, this is as clean and straightforward as cooking gets, with zero hidden additives to think about. Keep a batch in the fridge and you've got an easy, protein-packed option ready for snacking, salads, or meal prep all week long.

Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot insert. Place the trivet or steamer basket inside. Arrange the eggs in a single layer on the trivet — they can touch but should not be stacked.
Lock the lid and set the pressure-release valve to Sealing. Cook on Manual (High Pressure) for 5 minutes. While the eggs cook, fill a large bowl with cold water and a generous amount of ice.
