Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter, then line the bottom with a round of parchment paper and grease the parchment.
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the 3 tbsp butter with the 3 tbsp honey, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/8 tsp salt, stirring until the mixture is smooth and just beginning to bubble at the edges, about 2 minutes. Watch closely, as honey can darken quickly. Pour the honey-butter mixture evenly into the prepared cake pan.
