Vibrant, tangy, and deeply refreshing, this smoothie layers the floral tartness of steeped hibiscus tea with the natural sweetness of frozen strawberries, mixed berries, and banana for a drink that tastes like it came from a boutique juice bar. The hibiscus tea is brewed right at home from dried flowers, so you get a gorgeous deep-red color and bold flavor without any mystery additives or store-bought concentrates. Ground flaxseed adds a subtle nuttiness along with a boost of fiber and healthy fats, while ginger, turmeric, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice give the whole thing a bright, lively kick. A touch of honey or maple syrup rounds out the tartness without making it cloying. Tree nut allergies can make smoothies tricky when packaged blends or nut-based milks sneak into the mix, but every ingredient here is straightforwardly fruit- and seed-based, so there's nothing to second-guess. Blend it up in under two minutes and pour it into glasses topped with fresh strawberry slices for a finish that looks as good as it tastes.

Bring 1 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat, add the dried hibiscus flowers, and steep for 10 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a heatproof cup, discard the flowers, and let the tea cool for at least 5 minutes until no longer steaming.
Add the cooled hibiscus tea, frozen strawberries, frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, ground flaxseed, ground ginger, ground turmeric, honey, and lemon juice to a blender.
