Bright, tangy, and loaded with fruit, this smoothie is the kind of drink that makes you feel like you're doing something genuinely good for yourself — and it actually tastes incredible. The base is a homemade hibiscus tea, steeped from dried flowers and cooled before blending, which gives the whole thing a deep ruby color and a floral tartness that plays beautifully against the sweetness of frozen strawberries and banana. Ground flaxseed adds a subtle nuttiness along with a boost of fiber, while ginger, turmeric, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice round out the flavor with just enough warmth and brightness. For anyone avoiding caffeine, hibiscus is a naturally caffeine-free botanical, so you get all the ritual and complexity of a tea-based drink without any of the stimulant concerns. A drizzle of honey or maple syrup lets you dial in the sweetness to your liking, and the whole thing comes together in under a minute of blending once your tea is cooled. Top it with fresh strawberry slices and it looks almost too pretty to drink — almost.

Bring 1 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat, add the dried hibiscus flowers, and steep for 10 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a heatproof cup, discard the flowers, and let the tea cool for at least 5 minutes until no longer steaming.
Add the cooled hibiscus tea, frozen strawberries, frozen mixed berries, frozen banana, ground flaxseed, ground ginger, ground turmeric, honey, and lemon juice to a blender.
