A classic Negroni is already a beautiful thing, but bruising fresh rosemary and thyme before the stir takes it somewhere genuinely special — earthy, aromatic, and just a little unexpected. The herbs release their oils into the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth without muddying the drink, so every sip still has that clean, bittersweet backbone you love. Expressing the orange peel over the glass at the end adds a bright citrus note that ties everything together in the most satisfying way. This is the kind of cocktail that makes guests ask what you did differently, and the answer is refreshingly simple. Since it's built entirely from spirits, fresh herbs, and citrus, there's nothing to second-guess on the ingredient list — just pour, stir, and enjoy.

Place the rosemary sprig and thyme sprigs in the bottom of a mixing glass. Press them firmly with the back of a bar spoon 3–4 times — just enough to bruise the leaves and release their oils without shredding the herbs.
Add the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth to the mixing glass, then fill with ice. Stir steadily for 30–40 seconds, until the outside of the glass feels well chilled and the liquid is cold throughout.
