A classic Negroni is already a beautifully balanced drink, but bruising fresh rosemary and thyme before stirring takes it somewhere genuinely special — herbal, aromatic, and a little unexpected. The technique is simple: press the herbs just enough to coax out their oils, then let the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth do the rest as you stir everything down to a perfectly chilled pour. That final twist of orange peel isn't just for looks — expressing the citrus oils over the glass adds a bright, fragrant top note that ties the whole cocktail together. Every ingredient here is naturally free from peanuts and tree nuts, so there's no label-scanning or substitution stress involved. This is the kind of drink that feels like it came from a serious cocktail bar, but it comes together in your own kitchen with just a mixing glass and a bar spoon. Serve it over a single large ice cube for slow dilution and maximum elegance, or just use what you have — it's going to taste incredible either way.

Place the rosemary sprig and thyme sprigs in the bottom of a mixing glass. Press them firmly with the back of a bar spoon 3–4 times — just enough to bruise the leaves and release their oils without shredding the herbs.
Add the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth to the mixing glass, then fill with ice. Stir steadily for 30–40 seconds, until the outside of the glass feels well chilled and the liquid is cold throughout.
