A classic Negroni is already a beautifully balanced drink, and this herbal twist takes it somewhere even more interesting. Bruising fresh rosemary and thyme before stirring releases their aromatic oils into the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth, adding a woodsy, garden-fresh dimension that feels both sophisticated and approachable. The technique is simple but intentional — a few firm presses with the back of a bar spoon is all it takes to coax out that fragrance without turning the herbs bitter. Expressing the orange peel over the finished drink is the kind of small step that makes a noticeable difference, coating the surface with bright citrus oils that lift the whole glass. Every component here is naturally free of dairy, so there's nothing to swap or second-guess — just classic cocktail craft with an herbal upgrade. Whether you're hosting guests or treating yourself to a proper Friday evening drink, this one looks and tastes like it came from a serious bar program.

Place the rosemary sprig and thyme sprigs in the bottom of a mixing glass. Press them firmly with the back of a bar spoon 3–4 times — just enough to bruise the leaves and release their oils without shredding the herbs.
Add the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth to the mixing glass, then fill with ice. Stir steadily for 30–40 seconds, until the outside of the glass feels well chilled and the liquid is cold throughout.
