A classic Negroni is already one of the most satisfying cocktails ever invented, and this version leans into fresh botanicals to make it feel genuinely alive in the glass. Bruising the rosemary and thyme before stirring coaxes out their aromatic oils, layering an herbal depth into the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth that no bottled flavoring could replicate. That's the whole point — every bit of flavor here comes from real, recognizable ingredients you can see and smell before they ever hit the glass. Expressing the orange peel over the finished drink is a small step that makes a big difference, releasing bright citrus oils that lift the whole cocktail. The result is bittersweet, fragrant, and complex in a way that feels intentional rather than manufactured. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and actually taste what's in your glass.

Place the rosemary sprig and thyme sprigs in the bottom of a mixing glass. Press them firmly with the back of a bar spoon 3–4 times — just enough to bruise the leaves and release their oils without shredding the herbs.
Add the gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth to the mixing glass, then fill with ice. Stir steadily for 30–40 seconds, until the outside of the glass feels well chilled and the liquid is cold throughout.
