Earthy, warming, and packed with bold flavor, this skillet hash is the kind of weeknight dinner that feels far more impressive than the effort it requires. Caramelized rutabaga cubes take center stage alongside savory ground turkey, and the combination of fresh ginger, turmeric, and ground ginger gives every bite a fragrant, slightly spicy depth that keeps you coming back for more. Coconut aminos add a subtle umami richness in place of soy sauce, and a splash of apple cider vinegar brightens the whole dish right at the end. Everything comes together in a single skillet, which means less cleanup and more time actually enjoying dinner. For anyone navigating grain sensitivities, this recipe is naturally free of rye and any grain-based ingredients — no flour, no fillers, no hidden starches to second-guess. The coconut oil, fresh aromatics, and whole-food ingredients keep things clean and straightforward without sacrificing any of the satisfying, stick-to-your-ribs quality you want from a hash. Finish it with a handful of sliced scallions and a scatter of fresh parsley, and you've got a colorful, craveable meal that looks as good as it tastes.

Heat 2 tbsp of the coconut oil in a large (12-inch) skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the diced rutabaga in a single layer and cook, undisturbed, for 5 minutes, until the undersides are golden brown. Stir and continue cooking for another 8–10 minutes, stirring every 2–3 minutes, until the rutabaga is tender when pierced with a fork and golden on most sides. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 1 tbsp coconut oil to the same skillet. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
