Fresh citrus and garden mint come together in this sparkling cooler that feels like summer in a glass. The mint simple syrup is the real star here — made by steeping bruised fresh leaves in warm maple syrup until every drop is fragrant and floral, then strained clean before it ever meets the juice. Freshly squeezed orange and lime juice give the drink a bright, tangy backbone that no bottled shortcut can match. A gentle pour of chilled sparkling water at the end keeps the bubbles lively and the whole thing refreshingly light. Since every ingredient here is naturally free of any sneaky plant-based allergens or hidden vegetable extracts, you can sip without a second thought. It's elegant enough to serve at a dinner party but easy enough to throw together on a weeknight, and the optional lime wedges and mint sprigs make it look like something straight off a café menu.

Combine the water and maple syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the maple syrup fully dissolves, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Add the mint leaves to the warm syrup and press them gently with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon until fragrant and slightly bruised. Let the mint steep for 15 minutes, then strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the leaves to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the spent mint.
