Staying well-hydrated while nursing can feel like a full-time job on top of an already full-time job, and plain water gets old fast. This sparkling cooler is a genuinely refreshing way to up your fluid intake without relying on caffeine or anything you'd need to second-guess. Fresh-squeezed orange and lime juice bring a bright, tangy backbone, while a homemade maple mint syrup adds just enough sweetness to make every sip feel like a treat rather than a chore. The syrup comes together in minutes on the stovetop — you simply steep bruised fresh mint in warm maple syrup, strain it, and you're done. Everything in the glass is clean, recognizable, and free from artificial additives or mystery ingredients that can sometimes sneak into store-bought flavored drinks. Topped off with chilled sparkling water and a handful of ice, it's bubbly and beautiful enough to serve to guests but easy enough to throw together on a tired Tuesday afternoon. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge and it honestly looks like something from a fancy café menu.

Combine the water and maple syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the maple syrup fully dissolves, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Add the mint leaves to the warm syrup and press them gently with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon until fragrant and slightly bruised. Let the mint steep for 15 minutes, then strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing the leaves to extract as much syrup as possible. Discard the spent mint.
